Handover to a new owner

Move a pet and its plan to a new owner, including breeders and litters.

Create a handover link

The owner (on the card page) or reception creates a one-time handover link with a QR code. It works once, for 30 days.

The new owner claims

The new owner opens the link, enters their own name, phone and language and gives consent. They never see the previous owner's details.

You approve

In Owner requests, approve the claim: the pet, its plan and reminders move to the new owner (an existing client with that phone, or a new client), the card gets a new link and the previous owner's Wallet cards stop working. A "Send on WhatsApp" link helps you send the new card. If the new owner already had a record of the same chipped animal, it is combined into this pet. Declining keeps the pet with its current owner.

Shared cards after a handover

If the pet's card was linked to other TailPlan clinics, those links end at the handover (the new owner did not consent to them), your clinic becomes the home clinic, and Telegram is disconnected. The new owner sees "Your pet was also seen at other clinics with the previous owner. Add a clinic" on the card page, without any clinic names, and can add clinics again.

Breeders and litters

Mark a client as a breeder at reception, then Add a litter: one pet per puppy or kitten with a draft plan and a handover card. Print the A6 handover cards (logo, colour, phone, pet name, QR) for the puppy packs. Settings can approve breeders' handovers automatically.
